The Atlas Project
and Democratic GAIN share similar missions: to build the institutional memory
of the progressive movement and to foster the professional growth of the individuals
working for the cause. Atlas and GAIN fill roles not currently filled by any
other organization – roles that are vital to our party and movement.
Our two organizations are working together to further the cause of building a stronger, more professional,
well-educated movement.

We are a national
membership association providing training and support for progressive political
professionals and organizations to make sure that the progressive movement has
the talent it needs to achieve landmark victories. Since our creation in 2003,
we have built and grown an infrastructure that supports and connects our
members across the country. Our members – both individuals and organizations –
receive access to our premier job board and resume bank, a wide range of career
support services, skillset and toolset trainings, events and other networking
opportunities, and many additional unique benefits.
Our mission is to provide
four pillars of support:
1. Job Board & Career
Counseling
2. Talent Bank & Hiring
Assistance
3. Trainings &
Certifications
4.
Networking Opportunities

We help the progressive
community win tough election battles and legislative fights by providing the
knowledge and power to tilt the political scales in favor of progressive
candidates, issues, and causes. How? By empowering you with an online hub of
historical and real-time candidate, media and elections data. You’ll gain
immediate access to election results, voter registration, media spending, news
monitoring and candidate endorsements for all 50 states from the presidential
level down to state legislative. Moreover, through Democratic GAIN, The Atlas
Project is cultivating progressive professionals and ensuring that the
progressive movement has the talent it needs to achieve landmark victories.
Founded by Mary Beth
Cahill, Steve Rosenthal and Michael Whouley following the 2004 election, The
Atlas Project is a team of over 20 political operatives and data
analysts—seasoned veterans from some of the most competitive progressive
campaigns. We’ve worked to elect progressives at every level around the
country.
Not only will we provide
you with the insight, analysis and tools to help avoid costly missteps, make
better strategic decisions, and ensure your staff a ready to meet the
challenge—which, as you know, makes all the difference in your candidate or
issue winning at the ballot box. But you’ll also get access to an institutional
political memory: you won’t be forced to renavigate the political landscape
every election cycle. You’ll know what the regional issues, personalities and
politics are, sparing you time, money and mistakes that can cost elections.
