Medicare and Social Security in a Time of Budget Austerity

Some advocate major changes to the nation’s great social insurance programs. Since its founding in 1986, the National Academy of Social Insurance has become the nation’s leading nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing public understanding of Social Security, Medicare, and other social insurance programs. NASI’s annual conferences have always been timely and stimulating. This conference will take place at the very moment when stale campaign rhetoric must give way to fresh, provocative proposals. Count on it: they’ll be heard here.

JOIN YOUR COLLEAGUES for a two-day program featuring 7 plenary sessions (including 4 keynotes), plus 3 sessions in which you'll choose between a Social Security and a Medicare panel. You'll also choose from 5 roundtable sessions on Friday morning covering a range of salient topics in social insurance. Outstanding speakers and leading experts from many fields will address key questions such as whether Social Security and Medicare need only a tune-up or major changes – and how social insurance can better meet the needs of all Americans in the years ahead.
