The Ballot Initiative Strategy Center and Wellstone Action's Ballot-Measure Civic Engagement Training is coming up this October! This training is for experienced ballot-measure practitioners focused on 2014 campaigns and issue advocates interested in long-term civic engagement. The training will focus on civic engagement tools and training. It will also emphasize the skills, activities, and best practices to get good progressive ideas on the ballot and keep them there -- and to keep bad ballot measures from ever taking root.
All experienced practitioners and advocates must complete the full online application, send a brief essay about a previous campaign or issue advocacy experience, and include a resume. Applications are due no later than Wednesday, July 31, 2013. All applicants will be notified of their status no later than August 23, 2013.
The cost to attend is $500 and includes: three days of training, customized training materials, and all meals during the training. Participants must arrange their own travel and lodging, but BISC and Wellstone Action will secure a discounted rate at the hotel.
