Women in Government Relations is a proud sponsor of the Professional Women In Advocacy Conference who will be hosting the Excellence in Advocacy Awards Reception this fall, a premier industry event celebrating the accomplishments of exceptional women advocates.

The Professional Women in Advocacy Conference will host the second annual Excellence in Advocacy (EIA) Reception and Awards on November 20, 2014 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC where finalists and awardees will be recognized for their accomplishments.

There are five award categories:

  • Excellence in a Federal Issue Campaign: An effort wherein the advocate(s) successfully impacted the outcome of a federal legislative or regulatory problem or opportunity on behalf of their cause, issue, client, organization or coalition.
  • Excellence in a State Issue Campaign: An effort wherein the advocate(s) successfully impacted the outcome of a state or local legislative or regulatory problem or opportunity on behalf of their cause, issue, client, organization or coalition.
  • Excellence in a Campaign for Women Serving Women: An effort wherein women advocate(s) successfully impacted the outcome of a problem or opportunity on behalf of other women.
  • Excellence in Advocacy by a Veteran Practitioner: Recognizes the advocate for her achievements and contributions to the industry over the course of her career.
  • Excellence in Advocacy by an Up and Coming Practitioner: Recognizes the advocate for early achievements in her career and potential to be a successful contributor to the field over time.

Nominees and reception attendees do not have to be conference participants, but they must be women, and they must work in the advocacy field in some capacity.  You may nominate a single person or a team that has worked together to achieve the purposes of the award.
