Is your organization developing plans for an online course to deliver to your staff or to a community you serve? Have you already developed an online learning/training program and are looking for ways to improve upon it? Are you interested in building your personal skill set and branding yourself as a learning or knowledge management specialist? If so, this session is for you!

Nick Martin, the founder and CEO of TechChange will share seven brief lessons learned from his work over the past five years in online learning for social change. 
The session will explore topics like: how to decide what kind of online course is best for your needs, how to approach certification, how to overcome challenges related to access and digital literacy, how maximize virtual engagement and more. We'll also hear from two TechChange partners who will present brief case studies from the organizational side. 

Location: Dream Lab in the Digital Commons on the first floor of MLK library 

TechChange has delivered over 100 online courses in a variety of forms (self-paced, facilitated, stand-alone animations & videos, etc.) for tens of thousands of participants in over 100 countries and representing 1,300 organizations. 
A few selected online course topics include: 
Using Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs) to prevent Malaria for pharmacists in Uganda 
HIV prevention and management for marginalized Asian and Pacific Islanders in California 
- An online Training of Trainers (ToT) on financial literacy skills for youth in the Middle East. 
TechChange also offers their own series of courses on topics like Mobile Phones for International Development and Technology for Emergency Management and their model for online learning has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, Economist, Fast Company, PBS NewsHour and more.
