Democratic GAIN is proud to present Rachel Hirschberg of Berger Hirschberg Strategies for an Advanced Finance Training seminar.

This seminar is geared toward individuals who have done 1 or 2 cycles in political finance or fundraising and are ready to take the next step into being a Deputy or Director, or working on a larger-scale campaign.

In this targeted 2-hour training seminar, Rachel will discuss the finer points of:

  • Developing and Maintaining a Finance Plan
  • Working with the Campaign Manager/Organization Director
  • How to motivate and manage your candidate and your team
  • Tricks of the trade
Participants are encouraged to bring any materials or plans with which they have worked previously in order to discuss and evaluate successes and less-than-successes.

Please only join us if you have had some level of finance/fundraising experience.  Democratic GAIN and several partner organizations will have other trainings throughout the year aimed at those individuals who are at a more entry-level or who work in other political fields.

This seminar is $50 for non-dues-paying members of Democratic GAIN and only $25 for dues-paying members.  Membership starts at just $25, so you may as well join before registering!

Contact Nikki Enfield at with any questions.

Rachel Hirschberg has worked for over a decade as a tireless advocate for Democratic Party principles.    She has developed strategies for numerous political candidates and advocacy organizations on a wide range of issues including:  choice, Federal child care, public-private partnerships, telecommunications and government-wide policy, and Congressional relations.  In addition, Rachel is a veteran of five Presidential Campaigns and cut her teeth on fundraising when she worked for the Democratic National Committee.

Rachel takes a three-pronged approach to her fundraising projects:   creating an overall fundraising and organizational strategy, raising the money from a wide array of contributors including the party’s top donors, and then leaving in place a permanent infrastructure to continue such fundraising.  Her 15 years of high level political and fundraising experience, and her extensive personal relationships throughout the core of the Democratic Party, enable her to increase her client’s ability to raise financial capital and deliver the most effective results.

Among Rachel’s many accomplishments are:
  • In less than one year, as the Vice President of the Fund for the Capitol Visitor Center, she raised $40 million to build an underground visitors center for the US Capitol.
  • As the Vice President of Development and Senior Advisor for the New Democrat Network, she raised $8 million in funds while managing a team of 10.
  • In chunks of just $1,000, as the Deputy Finance Director, she raised $4 million in six months for a US Senate candidate in Colorado.
