Next week, history will be made in the city of Philadelphia, as presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton becomes the first woman to secure the nomination of a major political party in the United States. That a woman has achieved such an outstanding milestone - and will be nominated to succeed our first black president - says so much about how far we have traveled as a nation when it comes to diversity. Yet recent events in places like Baton Rouge, Baltimore and Ferguson remind us that we still have a long way to go in cultivating a nation that is a better representation of our rising electorate - one that is diversifying more and more, every year.
TeamDemocraticGAIN will be in Philadelphia as the 2016 Democratic National Convention kicks off this Monday and we wanted to take this unique opportunity to bring our mission of creating a progressive organizing space which looks more like the current electorate - an organizing space that will be among the critical moving parts which will determine the outcome of this election, which will in turn determine the direction we take as a nation. We are teaming up with our friends at Inclusv and the Young Democrats of America to present Diversity in 2016: A Dialogue on Inclusive Hiring Practices as a Core Campaign Strategy for Victory on Monday, July 25thfrom 2-5 PM at the Convention Hall.
Whether you are a delegate, convention volunteer or just in town and interested, you should definitely come join us for a dialogue on inclusive hiring practices as a core campaign strategy for victory. Click here for more details - and to RSVP!
