Posted By GAIN STAFF, Monday, March 7, 2011

With all of this talk of networking, sometimes it helps to see where the big events will be for the week. Thankfully such lists can be found through various listservs! Here’s some of the more interesting happenings going on this week.

On Wednesday, March 9th, a reception is being held for the North American Wetlands Conservation Act. At the Capitol Visitor Center, Room 202/203 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. E-mail to RSVP.

Thursday, March 10th brings about many interesting events. The reception for the 3-day National Bike Summit will be held at Dirkson G-50 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. RSVP if you are interested. Around the same time, the National Fish & Wildlife/ Audubon Society Reception will be happening at the Organization of American States at 17th St & Constitution Ave NW. RSVP here if interested.

Perhaps the most exciting of Thursday’s events, at 6:00 pm the 3rd annual "Congressional Hockey Challenge” Charity Ice Hockey Game to benefit the Fort Dupont Ice Hockey Club and Ice Arena will be held at the Verizon Center. For only $10 you can see Lawmakers like Senator John Kerry take on K Street Lobbyists on the ice. Check out this link for more information!

Finally, on Friday, March 11th. Nomi Networks is presenting V-Day DC's "A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer" 2011. Notable DC women present world-renown writers’ monologues in a show dedicated to exposing and breaking down violence against women. Check out here for more info!
