Come on out and see Democratic GAIN in San Francisco this Thursday, June 23rd for a resume drop!
If you are curious about what kinds of campaign jobs are hiring for this year or next, this event is the perfect place for you to get your questions answered. Take advantage of the opportunity of getting your resume into the right hands.
GAIN's former Executive Director, Alexandra Acker Lyons, who just moved to California, will be there to collect resumes! Stop by, drop off your resume, talk to someone who really knows what’s going on in the world of progressive politics!
Tom Eisenhauer sends in this update from Thursday's event Los Angeles:
About 100 people enjoyed the food - Cole's says they're the "originators of the French Dip" - and the chance to mix and mingle with a diverse crowd that included progressive advocates, campaigns, consultants and government officials. The diversity of the crowd was apparent, and folks got to meet other progressives - from interns to officeholders - whom they wouldn't have seen anywhere else. (If I'd remembered to take a photo, you could see what I mean.)
Special thanks to our long list of hosts (see below) who made this event possible - and in particular to Sarah Leonard and Ellie Wallace of the Glover Park Group, who did the heavy lifting to make this event such a success.

Last week's Political Networking Happy Hour at Medjool Restaurant in San Francisco was a HUGE success! We had over 115 political professionals (and hopefuls) attend to connect, network and mingle -- including a very special guest: former Congressional candidate from California's 4th District -- Charlie Brown!
On hand were representatives from the offices of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, George Miller, and Jackie Speier, individuals from Mayors Gavin Newsome and Ron Dellums' offices, representatives from several other local elected officials, as well as individuals from local unions, non-profits, consulting firms and advocacy organizations.
Democratic GAIN would like to extend a special thank you to our event co-sponsors the Good Ol' Girls Network, Jim Ross Consulting and NARAL/Pro-Choice CA, as well as the Medjool restaurant for their help in making this event such a success.
In addition, we'd like to give an extra giant thank you to Emily Campbell and Tom Ballantyne for all of their work. This event literally would not have taken place without their leadership! We have more events like this coming up soon -- including Kansas City next week, Denver next month and the Career Fair in NJ on February 7th. Attending events like these truly are the secret to getting and maintaining a successful career in politics. Working in politics isn't rocket science - it's just all about who you know and the relationships you are able to build."
