Hey, ladies!
Are you suffering from a nasty case of "the shoulds?” Do you
find yourself doing more of what you think you should do instead of what you
want to do? You’re not alone and the Hot Momma’s Project has a half-day seminar
for you that will build your confidence and empower you to achieve your goals.
At the Sis U Bootcamp, a range of important topics will be
covered. Want to understand how women raise GDPs and company profits? Are you
looking for a way to neutralize your own confidence crisis? Sis U will help
women solve problems, improve their lives, and reach higher for their goals.
Signing up for the Sis U Bootcamp will also help you teach what you learn to
other women – because a rising tide lifts all boats.
Founded in 2002 by Kathy Korman Frey, Harvard Business
School MBA and professor of Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership at the George
Washington School of Business, The Hot Mommas Project is "Confidence
101" for young women and their champions.
Dues paying members of Democratic GAIN can attend Sis U for
$50.00 off the registration price. Click here to sign up!

Medium? Chunky? Mild? How about flexible, affordable, and complete with everything you need to
organize and communicate with your supporters, activists, and donors? That’s the kind of Salsa we’re talking
about. In case you’re not familiar, Salsa is a one-stop platform
that organizations, campaigns, and companies use for online organizing, advocacy, fundraising, and communications. It’s all tied together with a common
database that gives organizers a bird's eye view of their entire community. If you or your staff are currently using
Salsa--or if you want to add this to your set of skills--then this training is
a must. What kind of organizations use Salsa? Daily Kos, the Missouri Democratic Party, and California
Governor Jerry Brown’s 2010 campaign are just three of the over 3000
organizations and campaigns that use Salsa’s organizing platform. We’re also very excited to announce that all participants who complete
this training will become Mild Salsa Certified - the first officially
recognized certification for users of Salsa who demonstrate mastery of the
standard Salsa skill set. This certification will be publicly visible on
Salsa's Commons community and can be used to identify as a knowledgeable Salsa
user. That’s a marketable skill that can set you apart in your next interview. Sign up today to reserve your spot!

The perfect YouTube moment is something all campaigns are
searching for. The flawless, on message exchange with a voter. The devastating
one liner delivered during a debate. The catchy and engaging short video that sticks
in a voter’s mind until Election Day. Or maybe your campaign’s tracker will
catch your opponent brewing a cup of tea that is a little too strong for the
average voter.
Do you want to learn how to make your candidate’s YouTube
channel pop, create the next smash video and engage with supporters in a
meaningful way in the next election cycle? The YouTube Campaign Bootcamp next
Wednesday at the Newseum in Washington, DC is where you need to be!
This free one-day training will get your campaign up to
speed on the platform and tools you need to find donors, sign up volunteers,
and persuade voters.

It’s almost summer and that means
we’re getting into the
heat of campaign season. If you are interested in working or
volunteering on a
campaign, Democratic GAIN is here to get you up to speed on one of the
most
crucial technological tools of a campaign: VAN
(Voter Activation Network), the
world's largest provider of voter file technology to Democrats and
progressives.
VAN is used by nearly
every Democratic campaign across the
country to manage voter contact and to expedite GOTV. T his Friday, June
4th, Democratic GAIN will be holding two VAN
trainings, one for beginners
and one for advanced users.
The beginner session will cover the basics with an
overview
of the general site layout as well as types of data found in VAN. The event
will include a discussion on the types of data typically found in VAN and who
administers this data. This session is for anyone who has not used VAN, needs a refresher or has very limited knowledge
of the tool. Click here to see more details and to register! The advanced session will have an in depth
discussion of user/data
management. Topics will include: How to best utilize VAN
for voter ID,
volunteer input and management for My Campaign. The session will also
cover an introduction to
the development and integration of VAN’s new
media tools. This event is aimed
toward those with basic VAN experience. Click here to see more details and to register!Don't forget - you an attend in DC or via webinar!

Raise your hand if you hate salary negotiations! Most of us dread negotiating salaries, benefits, raises and promotions. But we all know it's an important part of everyone's career. That's why Democratic GAIN is hosting a training on the art of salary
negotiation and asking for that promotion. In these economic times it
can be
more difficult to ask for, and secure a raise or promotion, but there are
still tricks of the trade, and things to know that can make you more
confident and successful in your negotiation. This is your chance to
learn
from political professionals who have been on both sides of the
negotiating
table.
This is perfect for anyone who would like to be more successful and
confident in salary negotiation with their next job offer, or when they
are
up for a review in their current job.
Speakers include:
Katharine Gagne, Managing Director at the United Mine Workers of America
Health & Retirement Funds
Simone Ward, Campaign Manager for Senator Barbara Mikulski
Space is limited.
