New hires at Center for Progressive Leadership

Posted By Nikki Enfield, Monday, January 5, 2009
From a Center for Progressive Leadership email:

"The Center for Progressive Leadership is proud to announce the addition of two new members to CPL's executive team: Tracy Sturdivant and Beth Meyer.

Tracy and Beth have been prominent leaders in the progressive movement for many years. The diversity of their experiences and their commitment to long-term change represents the kind of leadership we are trying to develop every day through our own programs.

They are going to help take CPL and the work we do across the country to a new level.

We hope you'll join in celebrating their new roles with us.

Trac y Sturdivant, Vice President of External Affairs
Tracy joined CPL's team on December 1st and serves as CPL's Vice President for External Affairs where she oversees the outreach to national partners, development of new state offices, as well as supports fundraising efforts with foundations and donors.

Tracy has a long history of experience within the progressive movement. She comes to the CPL from Publicus LLC, where she served as an advisor for a progressive donor in her home state of Michigan. In this role, she worked to help identify funding opportunities in Michigan and advised progressive organizations to help them define and support their infrastructure needs.

Prior to that, she served as the Deputy Director for National Programs and Outreach for People for the American Way Foundation and worked at the White House Project and National Coalition on Black Civic Participation.

Beth Meyer, Vice President of State Operations
Beth Meyer, CPL's Arizona State Director, is the new Vice President of State Operations. In her new role, Beth oversees all state operations for CPL across the country and works with Tracy and Peter as a part of the Executive Team to drive the long-term strategy of the organization.

Beth has overseen state operations and programs in Arizona for the last 2 years and will continue to oversee all programming in her home state.

Before joining the CPL team, Beth served as the Vice President of External Affairs for Planned Parenthood of Arizona. In this capacity, she oversaw Public Policy, Education, Community Outreach and Fund Development. She also concentrated on electoral races throughout Arizona and sits on the boards of Justice for Children, Arizona Advocacy Foundation, and Arizona NARAL-Pro Choice."
