Our National Energy Policy: Post Election Prospects and Challenges

The election results are in: President Obama has secured a second term, Democrats maintain control of the Senate, and Republicans keep the House. Join at the National Press Club as some of the leading energy and government experts share their ideas, expectations and predictions for U.S. energy policy for 2013 and beyond. These panelists will offer insights into how the winners of the 2012 elections will and should approach energy and national security, climate and the environment, the economy, and other emerging issues.

The Expert Panel

Jim Angle, Moderator Chief national Correspondent Fox News Channel

James Connaughton Executive Vice President and Senior Policy Advisor Excelon Corporation Former Chairman White House Council on Environmental Quality

General James L. Jones, USMC (retired) Senior Fellow; Senior Advisor American Energy Innovation Council with the Bipartisan Policy Center Former National Security Advisor and Supreme Allied Commander Europe

Timothy E. Wirth President United Nations Foundation and the Better World Fund Former US Senator

Panelists will discuss questions, such as:

  • Is this a continuation of the status quo or is energy policy change afoot?
  • How should the Obama administration shape energy development and generation?
  • Will a still-divided Congress find a way to develop bipartisan solutions?
  • Can we finally embrace a sound national energy policy?

The discussion will continue as an expert debate on-line after the event. Visit to weigh in.
