The Democratic National Committee is thrilled to announce that the second class of the Hope Institute that will take place in Washington, DC from October 25-27, with 30 young fellows selected to participate in an intensive program focused on Democratic, progressive political careers. We are committed to investing in the future of this party and politics and we have already had some major successes from our June 2013 class.

The Democratic National Committee is looking for candidates with little previous exposure to politics to participate in the Hope Institute 2013 program in Washington, DC.

Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, politically minded future leaders between the ages of 20 and 24 from diverse backgrounds all across the country.

All costs will be covered, including airfare to and from Washington, accommodations, meals, and ground transportation to and from Hope Institute activities.

The deadline for applications is September 13th.


The 30 selected participants will engage in a crash course in politics. They will have the opportunity to hear from former senior Obama for America campaign officials, congressional campaign managers, and DNC leadership, and learn from their career trajectories and insight. The experience will accelerate professional development while providing participants with strategies for entrance into political careers and professional contacts in order to further their job searches.

Note: Selected female applicants will be invited to the DNC's Women's Leadership Forum Conference, taking place on October 24th.

The Hope Institute is a program of the DNC that provides critical professional development and career mentoring to applicants with many different types of backgrounds in the field of politics.
