 Note:  This is not a Democratic GAIN event, but we wanted to pass along the information because we think it's a great program and we want to promote it and encourage others to follow their lead!

The Women's Institute for Political Power (an initiative of the Northwest Suburban Women Democrats) is hosting a series of trainings to encourage women to both run for office and get involved in electoral politics! 

First session-Sunday, April 19, 9:45 am to noon

Deciding to run for office and what to expect in campaigns:  State Representative Elaine Nekritz; Sheila Schultz, former President of Village of Wheeling Board and current administrator in Rep. Kathy Ryg's office,  Nancy Sherperdson, Eighth District State Central Committeewoman; Sue Gianonne, Schaumburg Township trustee, (tentative); Marge Connelly, Schaumburg Trustee, (tentative). 

Second session-Sunday, April 26, 9:45 am to noon

Nuts and Bolts of Campaigning, Mary Morrissey, President, Morrissey Public Affairs, Inc.

Third session-Sunday, May 3, 9:45 am to noon

Recruiting and Retaining Volunteers and Technical Resources, Bridget Gray, grass roots organizer and Obama campaign staffer.
