Democratic GAIN is proud to present Ed Peavy of Mission Control for an Advanced Training Seminar about the Whats, Whys and Hows of Direct Mail!

In this targeted, 2-hour seminar Ed will discuss the finer points of:

This seminar is geared toward individuals with at least 2 cycles of campaign or advocacy experience who are either looking to become Deputy Campaign or Campaign Managers in 2010 or who are going to be participating in the mail strategy in an advocacy organization or union.

Edward Peavy - Managing Partner at Mission Control

The guy behind the curtains pushing all the buttons that are Mission Control is Ed Peavy. Since co-founding the firm in 2001, Ed has been the force that drives Mission Control, putting half of his time into the strategic side of the firm, half into the creative side and the rest writing angry letters to TV Guide over their new format.

Prior to launching Mission Control, Ed served as Senior Strategist and Managing Partner at Direct Response Mail, where he helped engineer the victories of seven new Democratic Members of Congress and managed communications efforts for the agency’s non-electoral clients, including WNBA’s Sacramento Monarchs and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. He has since given all of that money back at the three-card poker tables.

As a campaign operative, Ed served as campaign manager for Congressman Alan Wheat’s U.S. Senate race, Communications Director for Mark Singel for Governor and Deputy Finance Director for Harris Wofford’s heralded 1991 U.S. Senate upset victory in Pennsylvania. On the Wofford race Ed developed the ingenious campaign fundraising tactic of calling people and asking them for money. This move changed political campaigns forever.

Ed is the catalyst behind Mission Control’s winning formula of unique strategic recommendations and creative ad executions. His never-ending supply of smart, sound strategic advice and selfless contributions to every campaign’s goals are at the heart of why Mission Control has a long record of winning tough races when and where it counts.

Ed and his wife, Becky, are the proud parents of three kids, a cat and four Tivos. In his spare time Ed enjoys pedaling his bike around New England, attending art shows and being a big UCONN basketball fan (surprisingly before they won the 2004 National Championship Ed didn’t know UCONN had a basketball team).
